Timberline Foundation makes regular grants to support the activities of the Nishtha Center and maintains a designated fund from which those grants are made. Contributions to our Nishtha Fund are welcomed and are restricted to that use.
Timberline Foundation is proud to offer support to the Nishtha Rural Health, Education and Environment Center located in Himachal Pradesh, India. Timberline Foundation joins a coalition of groups from Austria, the United Kingdom, Germany, and India in helping Nishtha’s work to continue.
Nishtha is a rural health, education and environment center located in the Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. There are a wide variety of projects that include medical clinics, emergency outreach; educational programs from pre-school to college age; and adult training programs. Specific adult training programs include single women’s activities to provide education about government health programs, employment, and assistance for special needs family members.
The programs at Nishtha are dependent on support from individuals and groups who understand the unique value of the programs; these programs enhance the lives of and offer educational opportunities and empowerment to marginalized children, young people, and women.
Timberline Foundation’s Board has determined that grants to Nishtha further the purposes for which Timberline exists, including its focus on affecting young lives through education that includes a sense of a global community.
